"Wisconsin law provides that certain information on the voter registration
application form is confidential, Section 6.36 Wis. Stats. This includes an
individual's date of birth, driver's license or Wisconsin
identification card number and any part of the social security number. It is
important that this information is not made available to the general public.
This includes individuals who make open record requests for voter
registration information.
(In bold is my emphasis.) Of course, Special
Deputy Registrars
are considered agents of the municipality and, thus, are required to protect the
confidentiality of this information. From Carol Kiemel |
