DANEnet’s Digital Equity Project offers a wide range of basic computer skills classes and computer help clinics to get people the skills they need to help with access to housing, job, and healthcare resources. Whether your program participants are interested in improving their basic computer skills or want to feel more comfortable using their smartphone, we have something for everyone!

Basic Digital Skills Program Options

Computer Help Clinics

  • One-on-one support sessions with a Digital Educator
  • Clients sign up for 20-30 minute sessions (appts are managed by host agency and reported to DANEnet after clinic)
  • A typical schedule would be one 2-hour clinic per week, which would include availability for 4-6 client sessions per clinic

Participants will learn the parts of a computer,  how to turn their device on and off, navigate files and folders. In today’s tech-driven world, the internet enhances communication, learning, and entertainment but also exposes users to online scams. Older adults are particularly vulnerable, with those over 60 losing an estimated $3.1 billion to scams in 2022. DANEnet’s cybersecurity class focuses on protecting your personal information—identity, data, and finances—online.

iPhone or Android Phone Basics

Smartphones are often a person’s most-used and most convenient tool for accessing the internet, but do you know how to make the best use of all the features, settings, and capabilities of your device? This class will share tips for making the most of your smartphones! DANEnet offers separate classes for iPhone users and Android users to provide the best learning experience.

Photo Storage and Management

Do you have a digital mountain of photos on your phone/computer and feel overwhelmed by the thought of organizing them? This class will teach participants simple steps to consolidate, sort, and manage your photo collection.
